Our Salmon Arm Synergy Basketball begins this week, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Practices are in the morning and begin at 7AM and will end at 8AM. Practices are at Shuswap Middle School (SMS). Please check registration details in the post below (March 6th post).
Players need clean, indoor, basketball runners that they change into and out of; as well as, t-shirt, shorts, and water bottle. No track pants please… coats and hoodies need to be taken off, please.
Warm-up will begin at 7AM sharp… The SMS, side gym door closest to the Staff Parking Lot will be open at 6:50AM. If players are late, please don’t panic, … Players hustle in, get changed and ready and then join the practice asap…. Again, don’t panic… getting into the early morning routine will take time - for everyone.
We will have a parent meeting on Sunday, April 7th at 6:30PM, at SMS, just before our evening session begins. I hope all parents can attend the meeting, even if your son is not participating in our Sunday Evening Spring League Games. Please check this Blog prior to that meeting. I will post details about the opportunities available to our athletes.
All Participants are required to view the videos below prior to attending their first practice. With only one hour sessions, I won’t be doing my usual video presentations; however, I will be referring to the messages in the videos I present in this Blog at our practices every week. I am always looking for player feedback and insight. Making connections to what we do on the court in relation to what we view and hear in the videos adds to our individual growth, development, and the culture we are trying to create in Synergy.

Salmon Arm Synergy “Bus Drivers” … Coach Aaron Smith, Coach Cristie Jansen, Coach Moriah Jansen, Coach Evan Smith, Coach Tommy Olsen…. … Coach Smith “Drives a Bus” when coaching Synergy; however, for the rest of his life, he is the engineer of long passenger train. The same kind of train we see passing through Salmon Arm in the spring, summer, and fall… The Rocky Mountaineer … The “Train” he engineers/drives/navigates is constantly being filled… Some ride in first class, some ride in coach, and … some are not given a ticket to ride… and v. … are let off at different stops along the way.
